What are the advantages of a submersible pump?

The possibilities when buying submersible pumps are manifold. However, they can offer some unique advantages over other types of pumps and can be exactly what you are looking for.

Energy Efficient

Pumps for submersible wells usually operate in a very narrow flow range. In order to meet a wide range of well depths, the pumps are always multi-stage pumps.  The deeper the well, the more steps (higher pressure) are required. The capacity to equalize the number of stages with a reasonable small flow range requires very efficient pump designs. The key to a more efficient submersible pump is having a drill accurately to measure the drilling performance to chose the right pump size for your necessity.

No priming procedure necessary

Submersible pumps are also used where the suction of a centrifugal pump with suction connections at the end would be difficult. Since the suction port of a submersible pump is under water, no suction is usually required in this case. It is important to remember that if you are using a submersible pump  in a place other than a well (such as a pond, stream, etc.), you should use a flow induction sleeve to force the flow of water through the motor to prevent overheating.

Developed for handling solids

Most submersible sewage pumps are designed for pumping solids or abrasive particles.  This can be ideal for pumping out a flooded basement or an old well and the right choice of submersible pump can ensure that it lasts long.
